Terra CEO Do Kwon denies reports of bitcoin being frozen

Der angeschlagene TerraForm Labs CEO Kwon Do-hyung, auch bekannt als Do Kwon, dementierte am Mittwoch Berichte dass südkoreanische Staatsanwälte Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) Vermögenswerte im Wert von 56,2 Milliarden Won (39,6 Millionen Dollar) der Terra Luna Foundation eingefroren haben.

South Korea's News1 reported that the Seoul South District Procuratorate's Joint Financial Securities Crime Investigation Team froze 56.2 billion won on Sept. 27. This is in addition to the already frozen 38.8 billion won of the 95 billion won that Kwon allegedly tried to hide.

Do Kwon denies reports

In response, Kwon said he had no time to trade and no funds were frozen.

"I don't understand the motivation behind spreading this untruth — muscle flexing? But why?" said Kwon. "Again, I don't even use Kucoin and OkEx, don't have time to trade, no funds have been frozen. I don't know whose funds they have frozen, but good for them, I hope they use it for good."

These claims have also been refuted by Kwon and Luna Foundation Guard, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Terra ecosystem.

Kwon claimed on Twitter a week ago that he had not stolen any money from his company and that neither TerraForm Labs nor Luna Foundation Guard had frozen any funds.

Interpol issues tender for Do Kwon

Interpol had already issued a red note for his arrest.

According to South Korean prosecutors, law enforcement agencies were urged to work together to find and arrest Kwon.

Kwon had denied being on the run and denied his identity via his Twitter account for at least a month.

Kwon said he and his company are cooperating with the authorities and have nothing to hide.

South Korean authorities are searching for Do Kwon's arrest

On September 15, a South Korean court issued an arrest warrant for the Terra founder, who is accused of violating capital markets regulations.

Five other Singaporeans have also been arrested in connection with the collapse of Terraform Labs algorithmic stablecoin TerraUSD in May, which wiped out $40 billion.
