Investing in wine, a new safe haven asset (tax free): the bottles to bet on

Hard times for the financial markets and for savers victims of the strong inflationary pressure.

The markets are experiencing negative phases, the stock exchanges collapse and the bugbear of inflation is getting higher and higher. Investing in gold , the ultimate safe haven asset, has not proved to be the financial move necessary to ensure adequate stability either.

Not to mention innovative investments that have seen the collapse of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, dragged down by the trend of technological stocks.

It is interesting to note, however, how investing in wine is becoming an increasingly widespread practice , which can be placed among safe haven assets which, however, are not subject to taxation as they are perishable goods.

In fact, a good quality wine, although not a financial asset, increases its value over time, becomes tastier and increases its price, placing itself in all respects as an investment that could promise to be fruitful.

A good quality wine acquires value and is becoming a good of refuge for collectors, enthusiasts and savers due to the annual revaluation which has already registered an interesting + 10%.

By analyzing the performance of the Liv-Ex indices it is possible to appreciate how the value of fine wines has grown in the last 25 years between + 400% and + 500% . These figures have also made many investors who are interested in focusing on important champagnes, Burgundy, Bordeaux and the best wines offered by the Italian territory perk up their ears.

Suffice it to consider the Solaia wine, fruit of the 1997 harvest and sold in 2000 for about 60 thousand lire. Today the same bottle is worth no less than 1,500 euros and the owner would hardly deprive himself of a safe haven asset capable of increasing its value so much.

Sassicaia, Ornellaia, Tignanello and Solaia are the most important and renowned Italian wines all over the world, whose bottle today can also be sold for 150 euros.

But the wine market is not limited to this. There are precious bottles that keep the wine produced from the best vintages or limited editions that make the value of a bottle jump to 500 euros and up to 5 thousand euros .

A market for true enthusiasts, connoisseurs, collectors, but also investors who strongly believe in the value of quality wine.

An example is the Ampio delle Mortelle , a wine deriving from the vineyards in the province of Grosseto or Matarocchio  and  San Walfredo , produced in the Upper Maremma and bottled in a special edition only if they reach high quality parameters.

A condition that makes these wines among the finest that the market can offer, limited edition products for about 3 thousand bottles, which is why the value grows exponentially over time and pushes many investors to invest in wine .
